FYI: The Trump admin has quietly resumed separating immigrant families at the border.
At one agency, the children were put into temporary foster care and shelters with little or no indication that they arrived at the border with their parents: propub.li/2QcsPvY
Reminder: The Trump administration is systematically locking up thousands of children at unheard of rates - now almost 15,000 are in U.S. custody.
The government classifies these children as "unaccompanied"
Trump administration reverses course on controversial policies for people who want to sponsor migrant children apprehended at the border.

Adnan Khashoggi, uncle of Jamal, was an international man of mystery -- a Saudi billionaire arms dealer who lived large and was entangled in all sorts of scandals, including Iran-Contra. 2/ nytimes.com/2017/06/06/wor…
Khashoggi also had a very, very nice boat, a 282-foot yacht built in 1980 with five decks, a disco, a movie theater, helipad, etc. – at the time the 8th biggest yacht in the world. 3/ yachtharbour.com/news/serial-ya…
Khashoggi and Trump were birds of a feather in their vanity and lavish tastes.
As a prank, Spy Magazine sent checks in increasingly miniscule sums to wealthy celebrities.
The only two who cashed a 13-cent check? Khashoggi and Trump. 4/
Trump soon sold it at $10 million loss to another Saudi billionaire, Prince Alwaleed bin-Talal.
He had bragged about buying Khashoggi's yacht at a steep discount, but now the chump was Trump. 6/ finance.yahoo.com/news/love-saud…
Fast forward: Decades after selling the yacht, Trump is now president, best buddies with the Saudi royals, and he hears they killed a journalist named Khashoggi, who happens to be Adnan's nephew (but didn’t benefit from Adnan's wealth.) 7/ nytimes.com/2018/10/14/wor…
Oh, and last year MbS locked up Alwaleed for three months as part of a shakedown of other royals who might threaten his regime. 9/

That secret grand jury subpoena case argued last week? It's about an unnamed company owned by a foreign country.
A federal appeals court forced the company to comply with the subpoena.

Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser, was scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday for lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia's then-U.S. Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in 2016.
As Flynn's sentencing began...
Judge Emmet Sullivan -- who was not the judge who accepted Flynn's guilty plea -- says he wants to "focus on some of the issues" before he moves forward.
Judge Sullivan says the circumstances of Flynn's FBI interview, as raised by his attorneys last week, "concerned the court."
Sullivan says they raise "issues that may call into question his guilty plea."
Judge Sullivan asks Flynn if he wished to challenge the circumstances by which he was interviewed by the FBI.
"No, your honor."
Flynn says he knew at the time of his questioning that lying to the FBI was a crime: “I was aware”
Judge Sullivan is making sure it’s abundantly clear that Michael Flynn is pleading guilty because he’s guilty. That he lied to the FBI, that he knew it was wrong to lie to the FBI.
Judge Sullivan gave Flynn one final shot to withdraw his guilty plea. Judge asks if he wants to proceed.
FLYNN: “I would like to proceed.”
Because you’re guilty?
FLYNN: “Yes, your honor.”
"The judge appears to be making it crystal clear that Michael Flynn has plead guilty because he is actually guilty & not because he was coerced by any person or entity.
Flynn repeated his understanding ... and remains adamant he was not coerced." independent.co.uk/news/world/ame…
Judge Sullivan tells Flynn that serving as unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as National Security Adviser means “arguably you sold your country out.”
Judge says he can’t hide his “my disgust, my disdain.” Flynn and lawyers seemed stunned.
Flynn's lawyer says they're prepared to delay sentencing.
"It is true that this EDVA case is still pending and likely Flynn may testify in that case ... For that reason, we are prepared to take your honor up on that suggestion."
Michael Flynn's sentencing will be postponed to give him time to finish fully cooperating with federal prosecutors.
Judge Sullivan DELAYS the sentencing of Gen. Michael Flynn, sets a status hearing for March 13th.
A remarkable turn within days: from Flynn lawyers claiming entrapment, to Flynn and lawyers admitting he repeatedly & willfully lied, to lawyers clearly concerned he may be facing jail time and asking for delay.

The White House is directing every agency to find money that could be used to finance a border wall. But that's not so easy. Or legal.
