Hollywood sexual exploitation. For example, if you were Harvey, an ugly, nerdy guy obsessed with films, how better to prey on beautiful young women who are desperate to make it in the moves than by becoming a producer?
Not just Harvey obviously, but Roman and many others, who by becoming directors, gained access to aspiring women or youngsters of exactly the types who fit their sexual obsessions. This applies to all casting couch activities.
Now let's take the UN (please). If you were a predatory type, one with a taste for rape or pedophilia, where better to gain sanctioned access to hundreds or thousands of vulnerable women and children? Sign up for shit-hole duty.
Or consider mass shootings. Someone in @iowahawkblog feed pointed out that schools, like concerts and nightclubs, are arenas where large numbers of unarmed, unprotected people gather. If it's a declared gun-free zone, or there's a high-rise in the vicinity, all the better.
Politics, too. The power imbalance between Congresscritters (or Presidents) and interns is just too much to resist. Especially given that some sociopathy is likely present to attract those folks into politics in the first place.
News media are in the entertainment business, so the casting couch and subordinate abuse dynamic applies here too. Beauty contests are a very pure case--the search for beauty and the competition brings together a pool of gorgeous candidate victims to choose from.
Lets do sports. Power dynamics, competition, physical beauty, strong status stratification; all there. Plus enough groupie behavior that the high-status men get used to being sexually serviced rather than having to court someone.
The Olympics. Apart from the built-in fascist appeal, so often exploited (1936, 2018), all the sports dynamics are there, amplified. Become a doctor specializing in gymnastics and have a constant supply of young girls laid on the table for you to molest.
Most of us are insufficiently pathological to see this, but if you put on your predator mind set (try Humbert Humbert for literary insight), these situations are as attractive to evildoers as that hubcap is to the delinquent (macaque or human) or the unlocked car to the thief.
