Hot day in the Bay Area. Time for naked tech support! My bedside laptop reading rig needed redoing after the move. Finding all the parts took the last two weeks, and then Dr Z had to buy me some friction tape. Here's the friction tape installed. Great old tech, smells like rosin.
Her's the completed rig, to give you an idea of how it works.
Here's a close up of the back. These are RAM Mounts, developed for handicapped users, very sturdy, but tricky to set up. Helps to have an engineer in the house, and crescent wrench as well as friction tape. Also scuff the balls with sandpaper to increase friction.
And this is the arm rig before I attached the laptop holder.
This is the view from the user perspective once the laptop is in place. Look, Ma, no hands!
