Moving on to chapter seven: Thank You, Doctor.

I hear my silence talked of in every lane;
The suppression of a cry is itself a cry of pain. -- Darshan Singh

Look, at this point I don't even know what to say about #HellMother 's quotes anymore.

What the hell is going on here? @KaelanRhy how did you not break something over this formatting? It's literally giving me a headache. #HellMother
"Do his feet seem firmly and flatly planted to the floor or is there bobbing or bouncing?"

A 19-month-old child bobbing and bouncing is only stigmatized when someone suspects autism. Remember that. #HellMother
"He points to whatever it is he wants because he understands others can't read his mind."

Uggh, theory of mind. I'm not convinced that toddlers understand this at all. At an early age children learn through mimicry. Parents point at things too. Is it perhaps possible that a
toddler, who cannot yet understand concepts such as delayed gratification, might be mimicking far more than actually understanding?

There are few things more harmful to autistics than ideas like theory of mind. #HellMother
It is not rude for Zack to pull away from people who put their face right up in his! He's allowed to have boundaries, #HellMother. Boundaries you yourself already admitted to having! Why can't he have them too?
"The doctor is glaring at Zack now with harsh disapproval."

He's just a toddler playing with his shoelaces for god's sake! I once wandered off with my mom's keys and stuck them in an electrical outlet. Chill the fuck out. #HellMother
"AUTISM! This is not happening! Autism, like "Rain Man" autism?"

Those are #HellMother 's thoughts. Mine are more along the lines of:
The doctor is recommending "intensive applied behavioral therapy" and I think I might be starting to shake a little.

The pernicious hatred and disgust of disability in general and autism in particular in this chapter is like a thousand blows straight to the heart. #HellMother
She...she just...I can't, you guys, I can't. I won't subject you to this. It's beyond awful. I hate this woman so much. She is everything wrong with the Autism Mom culture.

She is a blight and she MUST be stopped. #HellMother
Your child is not a disgrace! He is not a punishment! He is not a shell, an "exquisite cutout of a child with no actual stuffing." He is not damaged or deformed.

But you, #HellMother, are twisted and horrible. You do not magically deserve a perfect baby simply because you ate
tofu while you were pregnant.

Poor Zack. This is how his mother reacted to finding out that he had autism. As if he were not remotely human. #HellMother
And then she goes and decides to purposefully cut herself off from all her friends, thus ensuing true martyrdom as a woman who must do this with no support from loved ones.

I hate this woman. #HellMother
