1/ While back, a friend had a chance to lick a toad that would make him see God. He’s never drank or smoked anything in his life.

The experience he’d been offered was thousands of years old. Practiced by indigenous tribes. Everyone I know who’d done it was better for it.
2/ The actual mechanism is well-known. You don’t lick the toad anymore.

Instead, you smoke the resin. It’s a form of DMT. Some call it, the Spirit Molecule.
3/ Your brain releases it on its own when you’re dying. That light at the end of the tunnel? Hello, DMT. If you’re secular, that’s simple enough.

If you believe in more, then perhaps it’s your brain releasing you to the other side.
4/ Want to experience your death? Want to fully let go to what is? This is it. Die before you die so you can be reborn.

Either way, it’s one heck of a ride.
5/ My friend was on the fence. According to him, it could be perfect for his personal struggles.

He’d seen the effect it’d had on friends. All for the better.

“But it’s a drug,” he said. “I don’t want to do drugs.”

He asked me if he should do it.
6/ Here is what I told him:

In fact, lemme bare it all. So you understand that I speak from experience.

I’ve known drugs. And they’ve known me.

At a point in my life, I was on a mission to destroy myself. But I was too much of a coward to face it directly.
7/ So I went for the “easy” route. The escape route.

Here’s what I know about drugs.

There are things we call drugs that are drugs. They contract your Spirit.

They destroy you.
8/ Meth, for example. It was where I met the devil. And he was more powerful than me.

When you’re on meth, you don’t give a f**k. About anything. Including yourself. Especially yourself.

You’d walk in front of a truck and not care.

But for the grace of God, here am I.
9/ Cocaine is the stupidest drug. Want a guaranteed way to make choices you’ll regret? Sign right up.

Alcohol, painkillers. A chunk of what is prescribed legally. Drugs, all.

Drugs destroy lives.

But....
10/ The most important part....

There are things we call drugs that have no business in that camp.

They save lives. Literally.

Ahyuasca, Iboga, peyote, mushrooms, the above-mentioned toad...
11/ You know what they call these in the cultures they come from?

Medicine. Teachers. Healers. Grandfathers. Grandmothers.

They expand your Spirit.
12/ Iboga (also Ibogaine). It’s a root bark from Africa. Done properly, you’re basically in a semi-coma for a couple days. Your entire life plays out before you.
You get to experience the consequences of your choices. The affect they’ve had on others.

Not easy.
13/ Actual studies with addicts show them clean from addiction after three days of iboga.

Three. Days.

No withdrawal.

And it lasts.

I repeat. Heroin addicts. Free from addiction. After three days. No withdrawal symptoms.

Beat that, pharma.
14/ Brave doctors and practitioners are using iboga, ahyuasca, toad, mushrooms to treat addiction and severe ptsd. The results, I hear, are night and day.

Yet, most have to do this in hiding.
15/ In our system, we prescribe painkillers and make addicts out of those who’re already suffering.

Yet, every expander I’ve mentioned is considered illegal.

There is profit in addiction. There is no profit in healing.
16/ It would be easy to blame the system. After all, the drug war is one of the greatest tragedies of our time. And big Pharma is structured to create and push molecules they can patent.

But it’s not that simple.
17/ Most of the people involved in the system are good. They believe they’re doing the right thing. I respect them for that.

It’s easier to blame than to fix.

Let’s focus on fixing this so those who need expanders will have access to them.
18/ Wait a minute, you might say. The dude who wrote Love Yourself has done these expanders?

Yup.

But loving himself transformed his life.

All true.

Then why do these?

Because when you love yourself, you’ll do everything you believe will make you better.
19/ You might choose a different path, this was just a fork in the road I’ve explored. We all have our own GPS. Our job is to follow it.

And yes, I am better for it.
20/ Returning to my friend. Did he lick the toad?

Nope.

But he listened to my definition of what contracts and what expands and I’m grateful for his open-mindedness. I respect anyone who stays true to their path.
21/ So…why these tweets?

Honestly, I’m scared of putting this out there. I will be judged.

But a follow-up conversation with my friend reminded me that there are those who do need help. Who do not have the benefit of the life that he does.
22/ And there is a world of healing available that they may not touch because it gets lumped in with the system’s definition of drugs.

I owe it to them to share this.

24/ So. For anyone out there suffering from addiction, ptsd, or severe depression who has tried everything with no avail. Who didn’t know that there are solutions out there. Solutions that work.

I wrote this for you.
