It is with great sadness that we, Julie’s family, must inform all of you that Julie has traded her earthly clothing for that of the eternal universe. She has passed from this life to the next, and this is what she wanted us to tell you. (1)
Thank you, each one of you, for being a part of her journey. So many of you went from being Twitter friends to real-life friends, and she was so grateful for that, for you, for the experience. She cherished your support and friendship. (2)

Hi, Alberta 🧵
I’m an end-stage cancer patient, dealing w some of the most difficult decisions I’ll ever make
I have to get my lung drained in order to breathe. Doc wants me to come to a hospital ER to do the procedure. But hospital ER’s have Covid outbreaks. #abhealth 1/
I am trapped. If I get delta these lungs are done for. They wouldn’t even treat, based on my condition.
Do you see how this WORKS??
Covid vaccine deniers are getting my bed.
The one I need to survive a little longer with my children. And puppy.
Here they are. 2/

A wee thread about how people in power can subconsciously try to diminish voices of others. Last night when I was sitting with @punchedfaceguy, chatting w the sheriffs who patrol the legislative grounds, one of them used the phrase: “twitter isn’t real life.” 1/
#Ableg#Abpoli
It was in the context of asking Albert "why are you doing this? What’s the point? Who will hear you?” Albert tried to explain: even if few people were ON the grounds to see him all night, there were still plenty of people watching/supporting online & it was important to him. 2/

Exactly one year ago today, I was enjoying brunch at OEB with this beauty, my dear friend Amanda. (Remember restaurants?) Near the end of the meal, I began to experience intense abdominal cramping. The pain was unreal. I excused myself & almost passed out in the bathroom. 1/
I managed to make it back to the table, but had to lie down on the bench seat while Amanda sprang into action, calling the restaurant manager over, explaining the situation, telling him my car was parked outside but she needed to take me in her car. I was adamant- no ambulance.

Ooooooooh this gal’s got her rant on TONIGHT!! Careful now! Thread ahead!
*deep breaths.*
I just saw this post from #CPC MP Rachael Harder (Lethbridge.)
Hi, Rachael- I don’t think you’re on twitter anymore, but I’d like to chat.
#AbHealth#AbPoli#CdnPoli 1/
What I see from your Facebook post is the following. I’d like to clarify.
So of the 471 deaths so far in Alberta only 10 of them MATTER to you because everyone else had preexisting conditions? 2/

Watching question period, just heard @rebeccakschulz say, re: AISH, "I would encourage the members opposite to quit playing politics with vulnerable Albertans."
Are you KIDDING US, Minister Schulz? The UCP has been "playing politics" with vulnerable Albertans since election day.
In fact I cannot REMEMBER a government at ANY level that has done as much gaslighting and projection about their own actions
-You messed up AISH payments, as predicted, when you moved dates.
-You're screwing over patients with your STAMP program.
-AB children at risk in school.

"There was never any goodbye. He was just gone. It’s like the world swallowed him up. We could only have 10 people at the funeral, and I didn’t make that list. I break down sometimes, but mostly I’m empty." 1/

"Am I glad to be alive... I don’t know how to answer that. There’s no relief. This virus, I can’t escape it. It’s torn up our family... How many people would have gotten sick if I’d never hosted that weekend? One? Maybe two? The grief comes in waves, but that guilt just sits." 2/

Just a wee thread on what it means to "vote with your wallet." Let's just talk about this like rational humans, yes?
There's a lot of discussion out there about "the list." I understand both sides of this discussion, because I agree to a point with people on both sides of it.
On one hand, is it immature & unnecessarily punitive to “punish” a small business owner for their political affiliations? It probably is.
On the other hand, when government in question is being immature & unnecessarily punitive, does a boycott make sense? I would argue yes.

Funny, @MattWolfAb: I don’t recall the #UCP running on this platform?
-undermining & demonizing Alberta physicians, attempting to privatize health care system, driving doctors elsewhere
-harassing & demeaning teachers, firing 25,000 educational staff IN A WEEKEND EMAIL #abPoli
-A corrupt, kamikaze candidate leadership race (still under RCMP review?)
-Arbitrarily changing AISH dates carelessly, sending payments late, causing hardship for vulnerable AISH recipients
-Changing PUF finding model, leading to anxiety for parents with children who need it

Your heavy handed tactics won’t play in your favour. We WANT to compensate physicians for saving our lives.
What Albertans want to see, Mr. @shandro, is the “sunshine list” of big UCP donors, accountability for your asinine War Room funding & other propaganda. #abpoli#ABhealth
What we WANT to see is the list of your salaries & the salaries of your issues manages & secretaries compared to other provinces.
Why so high?! Ya’ll aren’t saving lives here. (In fact, you’re attacking the educational & health structures that would.) #ableg#ABdocs4patients

Okaaaay let's just go over this, shall we? Just your friendly neighbourhood politico over here, pointing out a few things Albertans SHOULD be awfully concerned about.
(TBH, there are MANY things you should be awfully concerned about regarding this UCP government.) #UCP#AbPoli
Don't get me started on Bill 22 and outrage fatigue. But TODAY, I'm just going to highlight TWO THINGS: 1) In case you didn't notice, last week the UCP voted (after limited debate, within four days, while the premier was off in texas so he didn't have to face critics) ...

I’ve seen recent chatter on the #AbPoli feed regarding people who insinuate the UCP are using fascist tactics.
I don’t like labels OR name-calling, it’s detrimental to ongoing discussion- but SPEAKING of ongoing discussion, why don’t we take a little look at fascism here? 1/
Let’s look at this interview w Jason Stanley, who wrote “How Fascism Works: The Politics of Us and Them.”
“The fact that not all fascists are like Hitler doesn't change the fact that fascist tactics are recognizable, consistent & dangerous.” 2/
