Eze Kanu Oji is Nigeria's longest monarch to ever reign in history and one of the longest in the world

Born in the year 1900, He reigned from 1914 - 1987, ruling for 73 years continuously.

It is not his longevity that draws attention but the wisdom and achievements he made on the throne, which still resonate and remain indelible in the sands of history and have transformed him to a legend Among the people. At the centenary commemoration of Aro-British war,

“In my town no boy can be considered adult until he has performed the Imamowu rituals. He must earn enough money by his own labour to pay the huge fees ranging from 3 to 30 pounds.
He must provide ten mounds of utara, or pounded yam meal, which no two persons heaving together could lift up an inch from the floor. He must provide other edibles and drinkables upon which the members must feast until their stomachs appear to be bursting.
At midnight he is led into a dark room where he is frightened by a masked mowu or juju. The mowu puts a reed between his jaws and talks like the spirit. The boy must shake hands with him. Then they converse in a friendly way about society and its needs.

Child naming (Iba Afa/Igu aha) in Igbo land entails a series of activities that culminates in the actual giving of names. Names given to a child can be seen as a story, told of the prevailing circumstance or philosophy at birth.
A child could be given up to 5 names including the one given by his/her ‘chi’ to respect the deity of the date of birth. Thus, any child born on any of ‘Afo’, ‘Nkwo̩’, ‘Eke’, ‘Orie/Oye’ automatically bears the name of that day; (Okorie/Okoye, Nwafor, Udenkwo, Akueke, etc.
However, in the early 20th century, the alteration of Igbo names began. The missionaries and early Christians altered Igbo names to suit their Christian idea of God thus the proliferation of ‘Chi’ names. ‘Chi’, (a personal spirit guide) became God.

Today, on #PostcardsFromALAIGBO, - a thought-provoking piece by Prof. Obi Nwakanma, on the need for an IGBO Renaissance, titled:

"THE CURRENT IGBO ARE "INFERIOR IGBO."

#ALAIGBO2050
1/ "There is no single proof or evidence today that the Igbo of this generation are capable of transforming any nation to which they lay claim. I have looked; I have studied the Igbo situation, and I have listened to my Igbo kinsmen, & I think something is fundamentally wrong..."
2/ "The Igbo are trapped in a deadening hate, self-pity and nostalgia. It is the kind of nostalgia that is both defeatist and deadly because it continues to romanticize the past while the future speeds away..." -Prof. Obi Nwakanma

Toning is great for your skin, if you are really toning!
No, toning isn’t meant to change your complexion.
In cosmetics, skin toner or simply toner refers to a lotion or wash designed to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores, usually used on the face.👇🏽
#DrZobo
Toners can be applied to the skin in different ways: On damp cotton wool.
Toning (based on dermatologist's prescription) evens out uneven skin tone, corrects dark spots, discolorations and so on. Toning is actually part of a skin cleansing process because it benefits the skin.👇🏽
