In "Social Quitting," my latest @LocusMag column, I analyze the precipitous #VibeShift of the dominant social media platforms: how we so quickly went from wondering how to get shut of them to asking where we go now that we're all ready to quit.

The core of the argument revolves around #surpluses - that is, the value that exists in the service. For a user, surpluses are things like "being able to converse with your friends" and "being able to plan activities with your friends." 3/

2022 has been incredibly tough. Almost lost my life to pneumonia. I recovered only to be diagnosed with severe anxiety later. What happens when life gives you lemons? You write. You write your way through pain and angst, despair and darkness with hope that you will be okay.
You write with hope that eventually everything will fall into place. 2022 was about that hope. Summing up the year with a list of essays, thinkpieces and features I wrote on films for @firstpost. Also, wrote features on worklife - moonlighting, quiet quitting for @moneycontrolcom
In addition to writing on relationships for @Mint_Lounge and personal essays for other pubs.

Starting with movie of the year #Kantara. In this essay, I decoded the shrieks of Daiva which seemed scary at first but had a calming effect towards the end. bit.ly/3G2mryx

Sometimes, I feel like I should tweet 'relearn how to care' every day, but I don't want to be 'preachy' or boring. But that is the biggest thing we all need to do right now.
Relearn how to care = focus on #empathy
We need empathy to tackle the crises we're in, incl climate.
Capitalism drives empathy out of us from childhood. We are taught NOT to care for ourselves or others around us. We are disconnected from our humanity. Why? In order to be 'good little workers' or 'good soldiers' when we grow up. And vote against our best interests.
Reverse that.
We are the only species that creates destructive environments. Look where it's got us.

Relearn how to care. #empathy

1. Zmiana pensji w czasie
2. Pensje współpracowników
