So Steve Bannon on MSNBC has said, in so many words, that Donald Trump knowingly committed treason with the Trump Tower meeting. Before you greet this as a bombshell, think about the source.
Bannon is willing to say this precisely because he can tell it falls into the category of "Well anyone can obviously see this is true." But he's not testifying about his knowledge or his legal expertise; he's stating an opinion, same as anyone might.
His closeness to Trump and familiarity with the inner workings of the campaign and his knowledge of the players involved gives him a bit of authority in comparison to J. Rando, but he has what we might call a bit of a credibility gap.

Whenever I criticize professors I get email from fellow profs admonishing me. Today it was the charge that I was "...attacking the people who have power, rather than diplomatically trying to change their minds".

I find that senior profs fall into 3 categories.

Category A is those who care about reproducibility, agree there is a problem & want to make science more rewarding for the public & the next generation of scientists. @deevybee @MarcusMunafo @siminevazire, to name just a few. /2
Category B is those professors who write blogposts like the one I quoted, who think that concerns about reproducibility and transparency in science are overblown. Some have COIs, others are just recalcitrant or conservative for unknown reasons. /3

This thread will examine Mr Corbyn and his anti-apartheid activities in the mid 1980s.
Mr Corbyn's supporters often use his his anti-apartheid campaigning and arrest at a demonstration, in promoting that he has always been on the right side of history, let's look a little closer.
Formed in 1959, the Anti-Apartheid Movement (AAM) it was by the 1980s an important international lobbying organisation. Affiliated with the ANC, & with a clear aim to end apartheid & establish equality & democracy.
But, in 1982, a splinter/rival group was formed.
The group was formed by the Kitson family (Norma & her sons, her husband David was serving 20 years in SA), a South African anti-apartheid family, with communist affiliations.
They named it the 'City Of London Anti-Apartheid Group' (City Group), although they lived in Islington.

2/ What McCarthy does not tell you is that the DOJ would not have submitted, and the FISA court would not have approved if it had, any application for a warrant that was not based on allegations that the FBI had ITSELF confirmed.
