Governor Cuomo recently announced a proposal that allows schools to determine which students they deem dangerous and hence will allow them to petition a judge to have LEGAL firearms removed from the homes of those students' parents.

This of course, would require some form of background checks of the parents with children in the schools.

Forgetting for a moment that New York won't conduct background checks on illegal aliens and is thereby putting the rights of criminals over those of law abiding citizens, I ask you to consider the implications of such a measure.

It may be an arbitrary decision by anyone on the school staff who can initiate the determination of what is considered a dangerous student. This is dangerous in its own right.

In addition, the likelihood is a registration of legal gun owners within the school system, ignoring privacy issues or the likelihood of increased and more violent targeting of such families as is already occurring on a smaller scale....

By Liberal zealots to 2nd Amendment supporting students ending with the complete confiscation of weapons by LEGAL gun owners; people who have not broken any laws and who have already had to jump through strict checks in order to obtain permits in the first place.

Advocates of stricter gun laws have been condescending to the fears of 2A advocates by mocking their fears of total gun confiscation, however, this is a complete and utter breach of Second Amendment Rights.

(7)

The reality is that once you pull the tiniest fiber from any of our freedoms, the cloth begins to unravel until there are only threads where our blanket of liberty once was. Legalized gun confiscation by schools paves the way for legalized gun confiscation in its entirety.

When you rescind one freedom, all freedom is lost.
