I've been dancing around this shit for YEARS out of (legitimate) concern about how it might impact my ex's career. But I'm really fucking done watching DH paint themselves as LGBT-friendly when they are anything but.
I know this isn't going to go anywhere. Nobody listens. Nobody gives a fuck. I mean, they publish Buffy, amirite?!
Anyway, before Mike Richardson can pull any of his "my door is always open my employees are my family" lines: Dude, we have DOCUMENTATION of both the policies and how hard we worked to try to get you to change them.
(Also, you used to gossip about my personal life with my colleagues WHEN I STILL WORKED THERE. I know you're very tall; but it's still not the same view as the *actual* moral high ground.)
So, yeah. I don't buy Dark Horse comics. I don't promote or review their books, even ones by creators I'd really like to support. I won't give you shit if you choose otherwise, or if they publish you. But after seven years working there, and all that, and so much more--I can't.
And I know that someone is going to privately and helpfully warn me about burning my bridges. About how this will affect my employability.
