Dropping toxic friends is one of the best things you can do for yourself. If that person always makes you upset, unhappy, uneasy, angry, & likes to rile you up? If you’re scared of them? Listen to your gut. That’s some bad shit.
Toxic friendships take many forms. They can be addictive & exhilarating until they turn bad. They can be codependent, where you feel like if you leave them, they’ll spiral out of control. They’re about control & abuse.
If you feel like you’re chasing a high you’ve lost, if you’re staying out of loyalty or fear rather than bc that person makes you feel cares for... those are really big signs you need to get out.
If you feel like you need them to tell you who you are, or fear retaliation if you don’t act a certain way, or you’ve watched them drag other people they say they care about & are dreading being next... time to pack up & get out.
You deserve better. Protect yourself & invest in yourself.
