I have no doubt @realDonaldTrump will be putting a stop children being separated from their parents. Now, before you think I’m about to give him praise or credit for doing the right thing, hear me out..
I believe @realDonaldTrump has a Hero Complex about him. Not that he steps in to do the right thing, to be a hero, when something is wrong. He intentionally makes things worse, or orders his administration to make something worse, so then he can turn around and be the hero.
This is characterization is know as #HeroComplex. Here is the loose definition and examples of who would do this type of thing. 
If you’re wondering why I believe this, let’s take the 2 most recent examples.
1. NoKo. He intentionally pushed us to the brink of war, just so he could turn around and “save us” from a nuclear war. He could have done a meeting without the prior threats...

But antagonizing Kim to make serious threats makes for higher risks. The higher the risk, the more heroic he appears to be when he “saves us” from NoKo. He then blames the previous administration for how bad it was, instead of taking personal responsibility for his antagonization
Example 2: Currently, he and the administration implemented an old Bush administration policy. A policy that was almost never used. He is utilizing the policy to intentionally make things worse, then blaming Dems for it. When he’s done making things worse, he will “save” the kids
If he wanted to be the hero, and do the right thing, he wouldn’t have implemented an old, unused, policy. But, how would he be seen as the hero, when there is no risk to lives? The lives of children, in his mind = higher risk, more anxiety, more fear.
When he “fixes” this, he anticipates LOTS of credit for saving the families, and anticipates much love from refugees. An attempt to increase his popularity on all fronts; Americans, refugees, immigrants.
We HAVE to acknowledge, these crises would NOT have been so severe, had it not been for him & his administration. He does not deserve credit for “fixing” his own masterful destruction. He made these problems worse, ON PURPOSE.
I predict he will follow the same method for the trade wars. He will make it worse, and blame previous administrations for how bad things are. He will pour gas on the fire with tariffs & we will be hit with counter-tariffs.
When things are at their worst, he will “make a deal” that will likely put us back to where we were a year ago, and claim that he saved America on the financial front. He will expect praise for saving our alliances, lowering tariffs from where they are (as of June 2018)
But I predict that our trade will be in about the same place, in the end of these trade disputes, as it was with Obama. Difference - he will have created new numbers to make it look worse, then turn around and “fix them” and expect credit for being the hero of American trade.
