The closer what your selling is to magic, the more people will buy.

Example...

"Buy this book on how to lose weight by eating less and exercising more." = Very few sales

"Buy this pill which causes fat to quickly and effortlessly melt off of your body" = Lots of sales
Of course, you can't actually sell magic, because it doesn't exist, however...

The closer you can make your actual offer seem like magic (without bending the truth) the more sales you will make.
Let's make the weight loss book example from above magic, while keeping it within the realms of reality.

"Discover how thousands of people have already used these shortcut weight loss methods to lose up to 19lbs in less than 30 days - without regaining a single ounce."

I saw this news the other day, courtesy of @MDaware, and it has not received nearly as much attention as it deserves — for a few reasons.

CVS announced that it will obtain independent testing of all vitamins & supplements it sells to ensure that they actually comply with their labels.

This is huge news, & I applaud the company for doing so.

But let’s take a step back & consider why this is needed at all. 2/16
In the 90s, a new Federal law took supplements & other “natural” products away from FDA oversight.

The agency doesn’t monitor these products for safety, study them for effectiveness, or check the factories that make them. They only get involved if some major danger arises. 3/16

HOW UNIVERSAL STUDIOS WORKS
My first job right out of college was a sales job, and I loved it. We were a 3rd Party vendor at Universal which means the guy who owned the company paid rent and a percentage of daily sales to Universal for the opportunity to sell inside the park.
Most of the trinket & souvenir shops you can visit inside the park are not owned by Universal. They're 3rd party vendors, too.

The hair wraps, t-shirts, keyrings with your name on it, etc. All independently owned stores that have a symbiotic relationship with the park.
Some stores were huge with lots of employees to help with the volume.

Our little shop was barely two rooms, and only had 5 people working every day. And we blew everyone else out of the water. When we made our daily deposits, we could see what everyone else did in sales.

#NewYearsDay is when I used to resolve to lose weight by eating healthier & going to the gym.

But I'd get overwhelmed with guilt when I skipped a workout or ate dessert & eventually get discouraged.

A few years ago, I started a new ritual & its made a HUGE difference.
(THREAD)
(2) I use #NewYearsDay as a time to take inventory of my body.

I know- that sounds like it could get awfully problematic. But this is NOT a time to catalog every fault. This is about gratitude.

And changing that one tiny thing about your mindset can change how you see yourself
(3) Here's an example. I might start with my feet, which are looking pretty rough right now. I'd notice the mangled toenail that fell off after I injured it trail running this fall.

And while I was scrubbing off dead skin, trimming nails & moisturizing my feet, I'd say thanks.

I'm a thin person who's been thin my entire life. Twice, I've gotten the flu, losing a visible 15-25lbs each time, and after each illness, I received nothing but praise and envy for the unintended weight loss. That's how I know y'all's "concern" for fat folks' health is bullshit.
I'm feeling the need to elaborate on this, so here we go. I want everyone to be healthy. Like, optimum health. That's not always possible, but it should be the goal. Our societies often tell fat folks that we don't hate their fat,just the toll on their health,but that's not true.
The fact that so many people are thin or emaciated BECAUSE of physical or mental illness, and these problems are either ignored, dismissed, or encouraged is proof of that.
