Technically, they're not. They're "reactionary nationalists."

But they don't mind organizing with white nationalists.

Here's what that means.

Nope.

That's because a lot of the forces we're seeing don't explicitly organize on the basis of white racial solidarity.

It's pretty clear that urban uprisings in response to police violence typified clashes during the Obama presidency.

During the Trump presidency, violence is being spurred by Neo-Confederate, Nazi, and white supremacist groups rallying in Charlottesville, Portland, and now DC.
It's also pretty clear to me: racial violence in America is an ongoing phenomenon.

Did the Civil War actually end? Historian Douglas Egerton literally wrote a book called "The Wars of Reconstruction."

Once the South was militarily defeated, Confederates resorted to terrorism.
There was white supremacist terrorism all across the South during Reconstruction (i.e. the rise of the KKK, Red Coats, and other white paramilitary groups).

After Reconstruction, Black communities were destroyed by white racist violence. slate.com/blogs/the_vaul…

HOW TO GET UNSTUCK WHEN WRITING A SCENE

I realize I’ve posted this before, but some of you may not have seen it the first time around! I use this method when can’t figure out what to do or when my scenes feel flat.

Step 1: Grab a pen.
Write out 5 questions:

-Who wants what?
-From whom do they want it?
-What’s going to happen if they don’t get it?
-What do the readers expect?
-What is my unexpected value?

The first 3 questions are about clarity. Can the reader understand the impact of the scene?
“What do the readers expect?” is a question of empowerment. Are you delivering a consistent enough narrative that the reader feels able to predict some aspects of it? Reading a few mind-bending pages can be fun, but it’s taxing on the brain to feel psychologically displaced.

THREAD showing evidence I've come across that suggests the recent murder of a young Jewish man in California was committed by a neo-Nazi, possibly as a politically motivated killing. (Sat on this for a week waiting on editors but now bits of the info are already out, so fuck it).
On January 2nd a 19-year-old Jewish man went missing in southern California. He turned up dead on Jan 9th, buried in a shallow grave in Borrego Park (wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=3…). A former class-mate was arrested on suspicion of the murder on Jan 12th.
The deceased is Blaze Bernstein and the suspected killer--now charged with the murder--is Sam Woodward, 20. (Referred to here on out as Blaze and Sam). See the next tweet for the LA Times story.
