The guy sitting next to me on my flight is literally getting dumped by his girlfriend as we speak.

Girl: “Remember when you told me if I met someone else I should let you know? I’ve met someone...”

Guy: “Oh. Okay...”

Girl: “I’ve been trying to figure out to tell you. I need to pursue this other person.”

Guy: “Wait...What?”

Girl: “Should we cancel this trip. Or are you okay with us still spending time together this weekend?”

Guy: “We’re literally on the flight...”

Guy: “This is kind of a big thing to drop on me. Why wouldn’t you tell me before we got on the plane?”

Girl: “I wanted to make sure my feelings about you were correct.”

Guy: “You could have told me before we drove to the airport and stepped on this plane.”

Girl: “Probably.”

Girl: “I just finally felt the need to be transparent.”

Guy: “You could have been transparent before we got on a plane together...”

Girl: “I guess. But my feelings weren’t clear yet.”

Guy: “Where does this other guy live?”

Girl: “San Francisco...”

Guy: “Where we’re going!?”

Girl: “Yes... but I didn’t plan it this way.”

Guy: “This is some messed up stuff right here.”

Girl: “Don’t be mad.”

Guy: “I’m mad.”

Girl: “We started messaging in college and have stayed in touch over the years.”

Guy: “Okay. This is awkward. We have one hotel room for the entire trip.”

Girl: “It’s okay. We’ll still have fun...”

Guy: “No...Why would this be fun?”

Girl: “Do you want a tissue?”

Guy: “No. I want to get off this plane.”

Girl: “Let’s just have a good time.”

Now they’re holding hands.

Guy: “I guess I’ll just push through the weirdness and enjoy our trip.”

Girl: “You should! We can still have a great time.“

Guy: “This is so unfortunate.”

(Dude. Get off this plane now! She don’t deserve you!!! 👏🏻👏🏻)

I wanna say something. I feel like I have to support my fellow dude.

Girl: “This is so awkward for me now...”

Guy: “For you?” (laughs)

Girl: “It’s not like it’s the end of the world. I still love you.”

Girl: “We’ve had great memories. Remember, you took me to see my family in the Philippines? That’s such a beautiful memory.”

Guy: “Yeah...”

She’s now talking about future trips he and her could go on as friends.

She just told him that the guy she is choosing to “pursue” is currently chasing after his dream of being a dive master.

Guy: “That’s cool...”

Girl: “Yeah. It’s a really cool/odd career choice.”

People, don’t ever let anyone treat you like this. Don’t allow someone to walk all over you.
