iPhone X cellular data just stopped working. Removed and reinserted SIM. Powered off and on. Did soft reset. Reset network settings. Called carrier. Still down. Is full device reset recourse?
Update: I can get to att.com but that’s it. I think that’s the future they want. “Why would you need to go anywhere else??” I hate conglomerates.
Just called @ATT again. Got automated message saying they are experiencing network outage in my area (direct opposite of what rep told me 90 mins ago), and they will text me when it’s resolved
If this truly is a network issue on their part, that’s infuriating because they just bought HBO. Operate a network competently first before you try your hand at making dragons.
"We are upgrading the network towers to provide better service." "Our update is moving from tower to tower." "It should take 3 to 5 hours." I smell bullshit. Demanding to speak with another tech.
Now they're promising to hit me with the advanced technical support who can re-provision my data. This has now taken about three hours of my day!
"Everyone has a thing. More for YOUR thing. That's OUR thing." I have heard this roughly 36 times. Who came up with this? How can they be made to suffer? This is torture. "Everyone has a thing. OUR thing is driving you insane with our thing. THING THING THING. you're mad now."
"It's actually a nationwide outage.. started off in the Northeastern side of the US and has spread to California. Our network department is working on it right now. I'm advising to allow 24 hours. Every now and then power your phone off and turn it back on."
She said not every phone is affected. Asked if she could help me with anything else. I was like "as a matter of fact, money." I asked for a credit. She's giving me $25 dollars. Better than zero.
Our infrastructure is a mess in this country. And this wasn't even a Russian attack! (or was it?)
