it's sort of a tradeoff: by making it agnostic to whether those things are related you end up getting a lot more weird combinations that are basically meaningless and not entertaining at all, but people just glaze over them in the TL

tpb has def expanded to have a lot of formulas that are slight variations on stuff i already thought of, it's just big enough that i can have a bunch of those and they don't get too stale. but the best ones are weird juxtapositions

some of this is me being clever and some of this is me being pissed off and a lot of it is luck and years of getting excellent topic suggestions from followers
but the main thing that really distinguishes bots from all other forms of entertainment like this is that people know that they're randomly generated and so they expect at least 75% of the tweets to be duds
people think @infinite_scream always comes up at the right juxtaposition in their timeline because they only notice it when it does that
i say this to encourage you to make bots because seriously if you make one that has 1 in 100 tweets be good, chances are people will share that 1 good one with a bunch of people who don't follow the bot and everybody will think you're a fucking AI genius
