Girl escapes from detention center, hides in auto shop sobbing. Owner, a Trump supporter, turns her in to the cops. washingtonpost.com/news/post-nati…
Worth reading the whole story, by the way. The store owner's family seems to have been split on how to respond, and he himself vacillated.
("He himself vacillated" is not exculpatory. Surprised this needs to be said.)
People keep asking "what should he have done?" But his sister had already called a local provider of immigrants' legal services. She was on her way to the shop.
When Gonzalez flagged down the cops, an advocate with the resources needed to provide the girl with legal assistance was en route to his shop. He could have waited. That's what he could have done.
And no, you yo-yos, I didn't post this to get people to leave bad Yelp reviews for the guy. Leaving bad Yelp reviews for a business you read a newspaper article about is pissantery.
Oh, and if you're going to call me a pedophile for posting this, two things: One, no thanks, I've got plenty of people doing that already. And two, you need better hobbies.
