(1) Aeromexico plane crash in Durango, Mexico: 80 passengers on board, status unknown, crashed 5 minutes after takeoff en route to Mexico city. 
(2) Flight AM2341 crash near Durango, Mexico. Aircraft: Brazilian made Embraer 190. Safety record: Most incidents to date caused by pilots not mechanical failure. Relatively new to the market, since 2002.
(3) Plane had 97 passengers and 4 crew on board. Officials report no fatalities, but at least 80 people injured. Great work by the crew to get people out before the fire.
(4) I now think I was wrong to repeat the "5 minutes after takeoff" I saw in early reports. This aircraft may have only left the ground for 1-2 minutes, judging by the pilot being able to crash-land it intact and enable everyone to get out alive. We'll see.
(5) If a wind gust caused this crash, the question is: Should the pilot have taken off in such conditions?
