Once when I was a teacher I was so stressed by a stack of 115 essays that I convinced myself it was necessary that I create an intricately detailed timeline spanning from the Stone Age to the renaissance. It took 12 hours and the students didn’t notice.

Im not sure why the two scenarios are equivalent. McSally’s opponent was not actively managing his own election and polling locations in Arizona didn’t have near the problems those in Georgia did.
No one was praising McSally for simply walking away. People praised her for not inventing problems to be mad about - even if you disagree with the severity of problems in Georgia it is undeniable that they were present.
Just the idea that McSally would’ve stood down if Sinema was in charge of the election or if there were five hour lines in Republican strongholds coupled with massive machine failure and ongoing lawsuits is...not credible.

Hello journalists. Please do not retweet or quote claims about illegal ballot activity in Florida, Georgia or Arizona without fact checking those claims. You will help spread panic and mistrust and many of you already have.
And I’m mostly looking at you, national journalists. Local journalists are doing a fine job covering this accurately. All voting is local, and not all wild claims are news.
Journalists are part of the voting process. We are not apart from it. People do not look at the statements by their Secretary of State on a state website - they google and our work is there. If that work contains misinformation we meaningfully impact this system. Do good work.

Last week Trump praised a congressman who body slammed a reporter.

I once lived in the information age
where ideas felt trapped in brain cells.
Hardly did I realise the freedom of the stone age
until my walls began to cave in.
But as I swam with the tide of modern society
in a deep sea of expanse data,

aiding those going through hardships.
At a point I was drowning in tears
overwhelmed by a wave of emotions
when my attention was caught on net

'how can a person increase in knowledge and not increase in sorrow?' "
for I had entered the age of gnosis.

1. As I said yesterday, we got Trump the same way I got Obama the same way we got Bush the same way we got Clinton: We allowed our civil society, our shared sense of civic responsibility, and our view of government as just the thing that governs rot out from beneath us.
2. You have an affirmative duty to the species to have lots of babies. You may not be able to fulfill that duty, you may discharge it in a few ways, but the duty exists because otherwise the species withers and dies and we are the only species created imago Dei.

(THREAD) I just watched @rustyrockets interview @jordanbpeterson, and want to say that—among my many objections to Peterson—I resent his framing retrograde cultural philosophies as post-postmodern. This thread details how Peterson's schtick is destructive. I hope you'll share it.
1/ For those who don't know Peterson, he's a pre-Modernist thinker whose embrace of some mid-20th c. philosophical, lit-critical, and psychological dead-ends—an ideology frozen in the 50s—has made him a hero among the alt-right. He's part of the so-called "Intellectual Dark Web."
2/ Just as I'd have less problem with Bill O'Reilly if he copped to being a retrograde boor whose head as to key matters like gender equality and civil rights is stuck in the suburbs of his childhood—so we'd know to ignore him—Peterson's dangerous because he disguises what he is.

As I reflect this morning, I am considering my “sex-positive” journey:

The sh*t was never pretty. Now for others who have a positive and more affirmed journey that is wonderful because that needs to happen more often.
But my own journey was definitely marked in sexual trauma, sexual questioning, religion, bullying, etc.
I did my “hoing” or was at least was perceived that way and although in the sex positive community that is embraced, it’s not quite that way in a lot of our neighborhoods. It’s “sex-positive” nothing and a ho isn’t exactly a term of endearment. Y’all know.
