I would bet that instead of launching something called Google Bank, that Google simply replaces parts of the ecosystem with itself until consumers realize “huh, I don’t actually need a bank account anymore”.
And @GrabSG is doing something similar in SEAsia. You keep your money in the Grab ecosystem and can pay for taxis and food. Only a matter of time before you can pay for more things, or sweep some into a Grab ETF or savings account.
