(1) Thread about making assumptions, and fighting against discrimination on the basis of religious belief.

Below is a reply made to: "HUD Charges Minnesota Realtor With Discrimination For Refusing To Rent To A Family Due To Their Race, National Origin And Minor Children."
(2) The headline referred to 3 protected classes (that's a legal term):

>Race
>National origin
>Family status (minor children)

Religious belief is also a protected class.

Some people are quick to say "Islam is a religion, not a race."

Some people are also hypocrites.
(3) The headline was actually about a case involving Native Americans and "Mexican Americans," and their religious beliefs were not mentioned anywhere.

Always read past the headline before commenting.

Unless you don't mind looking like an idiot.
(4) I don't call a person legal or illegal. There are legal immigrants, and illegal aliens (a legally correct term) or foreign nationals.

I cannot tell by looking at someone's skin color what nationality or immigration status they have.

I cannot tell their religion this way.
(5) Cases enforcing the Fair Housing Act are announced on a regular basis. This has nothing to do with events like religious or community festivals.

5.6 million people live in Minnesota.
(6) Like other religions, there are annual festivals in Islam. Across many religions, festivals are "movable feasts" according to the lunar calendar, not the fixed calendar used in the USA.

Eid al-Adha for 2018 occurs in a few days' time: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eid_al-Ad…
(7) 50,000 Americans in Minneapolis, MN will exercise their God-given Constitutional right to gather for prayer and fellowship at supereid.com.
(8) Just like groups of 50,000 Americans have always been able to hire stadiums for events where they exercise their Christian faith, such as Easter, or Christmas celebrations.

The same US Constitution protects religious freedom for ALL Americans.
(9) These brave Americans died while fighting to protect your freedoms.
(10) If required, I would fight and die to protect your freedom to say dumb things on the internet.

Even if you spell the name of my faith wrong.
