Leonardo da Vinci’s to do list (Circa 1490):

- [Calculate] the measurement of Milan and Suburbs
- [Find] a book that treats of Milan and its churches, which is to be had at the stationer’s on the way to Cordusio
- Get the master of arithmetic to show you how to square a triangle
- Ask Benedetto Potinari (A Florentine merchant) by what means they go on ice in Flanders
- Ask Maestro Antonio how mortars are positioned on bastions by day or night
- [Ask about] the measurement of the sun promised me by Maestro Giovanni Francese
- Find a master of hydraulics and get him to tell you how to repair a lock, canal and mill in the Lombard manner
- [Discover] the measurement of Corte Vecchio (the courtyard in the duke’s palace).
- Draw Milan
- Get Messer Fazio (a professor of medicine and law in Pavia) to show you about proportion.
- Get the Brera Friar (at the Benedictine Monastery to Milan) to show you De Ponderibus (a medieval text on mechanics)
Why do people born hundreds of years ago sound so much more interesting than us
Leonardo lists spectacles, stockings, shoelaces, a pane of glass, a fine-tooth bone saw, forceps and a skull as just some of the items that he thought he might need for a journey.
He reminds himself to obtain a skull, to get his books on anatomy bound, to observe the holes in the substance of the brain, to describe the tongue of the woodpecker and the jaw of a crocodile, and to give the measurement of a dead man using his finger as a unit.
Fascinating stuff.

Amelia Earhart was declared dead #OnThisDay in 1939.

She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Earhart was the daughter of Samuel "Edwin" Stanton Earhart and Amelia "Amy". She was born in Atchison, Kansas, in the home of her maternal grandfather, Alfred Gideon Otis, who was a former federal judge, the president of the Atchison Savings Bank.
According to family custom, Earhart was named after her two grandmothers, Amelia Josephine Harres and Mary Wells Patton. From an early age, Amelia was the ringleader while her sister Grace Muriel Earhart (1899–1998), two years her junior, acted as the dutiful follower.

Como profesional de la Historia del Arte, me gustaría decir varias cosas al respecto de esta polémica. Siempre desde el respeto y con un poco de humor.

En primer lugar, dejar claro que no tengo nada en contra de Christian Gálvez y estoy seguro que los profesionales de la Historia del Arte tampoco lo tienen.

Si consigue publicar libros, excelente.

Si se los dedica a Da Vinci, estupendo.

Simplemente, felicitaciones para él.
En segundo lugar, decir que el problema con la manera en que se ha desarrollado esta exposición lo ha explicado perfectamente el profesor @Benito_Navarret en este artículo de opinión.

Creo que lo deja todo muy claro.

Nas horas vagas também era Pintor.
Leonardo da Vinci nasceu numa aldeia perto de Florença, Itália, em 1452. Seu pai, o tabelião Piero, não se casou com a jovem Catarina e recusou-se a a dar ao menino um nome, o que veio a tornar famosa a aldeia de Vinci.
Um dos maiores gênios de todos os tempos, principal figura da renascença, Leonardo consegue ser um mestre da pintura com apenas meia dúzia de quadros -os únicos que podem com certeza ser atribuídos.

It's time to willfully misunderstand Leonardo da Vinci! (Named after Saint Leonardo, patron of lion genitals; "da Vinci" just means he's from the town of Vinci.)
Here's his Annunciation, displaying his masterful use of Verocchio to do all the hard stuff for him.
Not many know this, but Leonardo's Madonna of the Carnation contains the direct inspiration for David Lynch's Baron Harkonnen.

The Madonna herself wears blue, symbolizing her role as the queen of heaven, & red, symbolizing her role as queen of hell. The Bible is…complicated.
Here we see Ginevra de' Benci. Leonardo is well known for putting little puns into his work, and he masterfully captures the look of someone who has just been told one.

As we move from time of the Ram (Aries) to the Bull, there's a shift from "Being" and an interest in fiery identity to embodying, holding, and having.
We could say that Light takes shape or form.
As the light of Aries crystalizes into shape & material expression, we find those changes in Taurus like greater groundedness, build-up of reserves of energy, more purpose in movement & a smoothness of coordination.

1. Just reading a useful paper by @CompetitionProf on competition among big tech platforms, which he calls 'moligopolistic competition'. Moligopoly as a word is a combination of monopoly and oligopoly. These firms are both. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…
2. His argument is that the economy straddling firms, FB, Google, Amazon, Msft, Apple, are not traditional monopolies. They have a core market with monopolistic positioning, but they also compete across many other markets. And they seek to disrupt their core market.
3. Tech monopolies compete, not always against actual competitors, but against what he calls ‘non-consumption’. This is what Zuckerberg's notes meant about FB not being a monopoly, as consumers have a lot of other things to do with their time (like sleep).

1/ Everyone knows about "deliberate practice" "grit", but how do you apply these tactically. Physical sports like basketball have drills and habits that you can apply and idols like MJ or Lebron. Are there the equivalent? Meaning what habits do you need to unlearn and learn?
2/ First, we have to see what people do normally to study subjects. I'll specifically focus on STEM subjects as the world increasingly become more "technical" for children and adults.
3/ These concepts are with full attribution to @lhtl_mooc, Cal Newport, books about habits of Darwin, books about habits Leonardo Da Vinci, Josh Waitzkin, and there are probably concepts leakage from other books/articles as well.
