Taco Bell is not Mexican or Tex-Mex. It's grade-D beef thrown into a corn pocket with some salad on top. It doesn't try to be anything more than that. Which is perfectly fine because it's goddamn delicious.
Like... if someone goes to Taco Bell expecting authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex, bless their hearts. It's just delightfully sloppy and unhealthy food that hits the spot sometimes. All these things can be true.
My friend just told me: "Taco Bell knows exactly what they're doing. They're not trying to be anything authentic other than authentic Taco Bell."
