Once upon a time I was a young lefty uni student studying economics in a place and time that was dominated by right wing politics.
I wrote essays denouncing the int'l fin instituitions, arguing assumptions of economics meant it was "worse than useless", ...
... saying we needed more govt intervention to save the environment and higher taxes on the rich...
Grade/comments back said "A: clear points, solid argument, maybe a little too strong?" Then I switched to the more lefty international law.
I argued for IFIs, for free trade, against the idea that human rights are universal and indivisible (as if there aren't always tradeoffs!)
Grades/comments: "A: good points, qell structured, have you considered (some other viewpoint)?"
Universities/profs aren't grading you down because they're biased against your ideology. It's your intellectual sloppiness they detest.
