Are we angry yet?

Are we angry enough yet?

What will finally break us? Because not only can the center not hold, it has been mortgaged for generations.
It seems there are only ways to experience this country today, as a subservient, overly optimistic (even with a gun to the head), voting citizen who stays quiet and prays for Ushuru and Bill the Teary.

Or as an anarchist. Because this can't be how this story ends.
What is the collective trauma that's holding us back? Because when you think about it, we haven't even processed the trauma of the last 5 years. Terror attacks, lies, more lies, other new lies, paying for personal fortunes, and paying taxes so the treasure hunt never ends.
Soon, even KANU 3.0 will tell us to be glad we were immunized. Then I won't laugh at @ssojo81 @beewol and @oleebranch any more.

Kamotho said 100 years?
If you are wondering, this thread has no point really. We know the solutions. We know them even before public intellectuals help us translate them.

But we are living in a darkness of our own making. Not the weather, or force majuere, not even an impulsive purchase or war.
We are hungry. We are broke. We are, as @bonifacemwangi always says, one disease away from poverty. People are dying unnecessary deaths (do you remember Alex Madaga? The man who died in an ambulance becauseno hospital would take him in?)
We are in unnecessary wars of attrition in Somalia and Northern Kenya, and Lamu, and Elgon.

Do you remember that? Sometimes? That we are a country at war with ourselves, in a figurative and literal sense?
Last year, when I did that "Why I don't vote" piece, I got some measured backlash. But the entire point was, by 2017, we were in trouble not just as an economy, but as a society. We are only held together by threads really.
This country, most of it at least, turns 100 in two years. We will be a century old, well, except our Northern Frontier, which follows in 2025.

Do you know what we have to show for 100 years as a state? A state. Just that. Not a people. Not a society. Not an identity.
This is not a country to love, only to tolerate really. To go home and dip your feet in hot water and just try not to think about the clusterfuckery you were born or married or naturalized in.

This cannot be the extent of our human experience.
I think I've found a point to this rant.

Fuck it.

Just, fuck it.

This daylight robbery of a nation might not have been our doing at its creation, but we can do better now. We weren't born to be enslaved.
Kimathi and his brother didn't leave their photo outside a barracks (those badass siblings) so we could give land and freedom to one family and the allies it built.

You are experiencing history as a witness and a victim right now.
You can experience history as a witness, a victim, and as someone who wasn't there.

You are a witness and a victim. You will be broke for the foreseeable future not because nature went mad, but because while you were sleeping, your employees sold your future.
Positive thinking at this point is for showers, and when you are stoned. A reality check? Who can even keep up with this mess? Demand better? Haven't we tried that before? Do these employees we pay so much seem like they are listening?

Fuck it.
You were not born to be a Kenyan actually. You were not born to be enslaved again. You are not here to live this experience again because it's been done several times.

How many times can a people be robbed, mugged and molested before they give up?

This is the point.
To answer the question this thread began with

I am angry, disappointed, and the Weltschermz (Google this, it will make sense) is overwhelming. Are you?
