Sen. Jeff Flake, on the Senate floor, decries a "toxic culture" on both sides around Kavanaugh and Blasey Ford. “These human beings: we owe you both a sincere apology," he says.
Flake: “I do not know how I will assess the credibility of these witnesses, these human beings," he says. Chastising both sides, he says he does not believe Dr. Ford is part of a conspiracy to smear Kavanaugh, does not believe Kavanaugh is a serial predator.
Flake says he doesn't know how he'll vote or how the vote will go, but "I am confident in saying that it will forever be steeped in doubt." That's all; no call for action or delay.
Flake says he gave his Senate speech about Kavanaugh without having looked at the new sexual assault allegations from two and a half hours ago.
