LAW 22: Use the surrender tactic: transform weakness into power.

To win, you must live to fight another day.

The law reveals the tremendous power of the dialectic – to get what you want, you often need to go in the opposite direction.
1. To defeat aggressive people who live to put others down, deny them the satisfaction of open combat.

Drain their will to fight through indirection, confusion and distraction – they easily fall for such tactics.
When you confront authority directly, you only give it legitimacy and mobilize its supporters.

Embrace the system to defeat it.

Follow all the rules and demands of your tormentors to absurd extremes until they crumble under their own weight.
No human system is foolproof. The best method to take it down comes with the instruction manual – if you know how to read it.
2. You only fail when you quit.
Martyrdom is easy, to persist in the face of failure is difficult.
Great achievement comes with gritty application to everyday improvement, not from "talent" or a one-off "stroke of genius".
You “surrender” every day when you work out and do reps until failure. That’s how you grow muscle most effectively.

You work up to the “surrender” moment, then stop so you don't take yourself out of the game for weeks. That way you can show up the next day and grow.
3. Surrender is a powerful sales tactic. You don’t take no for an answer – by coming back for another no, over and over.

The best salespeople don’t go in with gimmicks but seek to understand the market. They don’t look for easy sales, but to serve a need and gain a customer.
4. Use the reversal of the law to harness the energy of your own demons.

Recognize your flaws and begin a crusade daily against them to fuel your ascent.
Don't fall for the special snowflake narrative of the putrid culture.

– It's not good to be weak.
– It's not good to be fat.
– It's not good to be unskilled.
– It's not good to be poor.

Never settle for less – least of all for less of Yourself.
If you don’t recognize where you come short, you will never know what to make a priority and how.

Nobody's perfect, but few move towards perfection.

Look at radical honesty with yourself as your internal opportunity generator – it tells you how to improve your life.
