Unfortunately, my last tweet about sudden loss appears to have read wrong, so I took it down.

I’ve indeed experienced sudden loss but not recently.

Still, the weight I see on people’s shoulders this week is familiar.

It’s the inevitable aftermath of Kavanaugh.

It’s entirely normal and expected to be feeling really down this week - and to be caught off guard by that.

It feels like it’s out of the blue because nothing new has happened TODAY but it’s the normal residue of a brutally emotional loss last week.

If you’re feeling it this week, you aren’t alone.

I’ve been through enough grief cycles to know that last week’s politics were going to weigh heavy on all of us this week.

That’s normal. It’s always hardest when it gets quiet again.

If life feels extra heavy this week, you aren’t alone. It isn’t just you.

Give yourself permission to take a deep breath and recharge.

It’s okay to not be okay.

If you can, find one good thing today though no matter how small. One simple joy.

It helps.

In the meantime, know at least this:

You aren’t the only one feeling weighed down this week. A lot of us are.

You’re in good company and we’re all in this together.
