Institutional reforms pushed to the back seat, people now want executive orders for almost everything.

Executive orders can be rolled back and are not long term solutions. Reforms no matter how little are better than 100 presidential executive orders.🇳🇬
One of the majors reasons why I supported Buhari for years even when it was unpopular to do so, was the sheer belief that he will embark on institutional reforms.

There is no country that has developed or brought its popuypur of poverty because of dashing out money to the poor
There is a constructive argument on paying money to the poor as incentives. It must be backed by reforms which will ensure they don’t remain poor or their kids don’t remain in the vicious circle of poverty.
When Brasil embarked on it social intervention programme, parents had to ensure their kids where in school, attendance was tied to benefits.

Brasil has the 2nd largest school feeding programme in the world, 42 million kids. Lunch program is tied to child hunger/malnutrition
Brasil actually passed laws which make the feeding program a law, the constitution requires that 30% of the ingredients for school meals be sourced locally from family farms.

This has helped an estimated 4 million farmers, expansion of farms and rural development.
Development and economics is a cycle, reforms must be tied into our asks and delivery plans.

No matter the amount t you give to any entrepreneur in 🇳🇬, the cost of power will easily wipe off the business.

Reforms are important for the growth of any country
State institutions in 🇳🇬 have no regards for human rights or the rule of law. They government and elected officials are accountable to no one.

Public service reform is one this government has been very quiet about.

I don’t want executive orders, I want institutional reforms
