Need I say Buhari's govt embarrassed itself with it's share of scandals; albeit, Obasanjo - Atiku finished its countless show of shame with a summa cum laude:
1. Halliburton
2. Siemens
3. IILL
4. NITEL
5. NOTORE
6.ALSCON
7. PTDF
8. Private University Licenses
..to mention few.
Let's knock Buhari for his failings, but this picture finally showed it isn't about us, masses. It's greed, self aggrandizement & ego. What's d most atrocious thing that ever happened in the current govt that could have instigated this extent of political-religious panic attack?
If all of these amphoteric patriots attacked Nigeria's problems with d fervour and alacrity with which they've coalesced to demonize Buhari, this generation and d next wont rely on a 75yrs old Buhari, who was contented dweling in d warmth of the sahel, for a path forward in 2015.
Before Buhari's 2nd coming after 32yrs, while tendering his 150 cows, mummy Oby was a minister at several federal ministries, NOI was in govt, OBJ was in govt, Atiku was in govt; Bishop was building his universities; Otedola with a Diploma in Printing acquired FG's share of AP.
I mingle with govt and I know what obtains. As far back as 2001, you have to buy access from SAs with a minimum of N1.2Million to book appointment in the presidency and NASS. T'was character desertification that made Nigerians resort to PMB at a time his strength was ebbing.
Friends, character is an invaluable asset. With character you can eventually acquire competence over time. Look around the world and appraise the calamities that has befallen humanity by humans adjudged competent who had no character. Adolf Hitler was one.
Was Satan not the highest ranking Angel before God threw him out of heaven for lack of character? If devil accounts for 99% of the evil on earth, then satan is by all means a competent 'cherub' no human should take for granted. By all standards, character comes before competence.
All the narratives we are feted with, à la carte, won't erase the facts an incompetent Buhari was sent to Officers’ Cadet School, Aldershot, in UK; commissioned thereafter as a 2nd Lieutenant and was posted to the 2nd Infantry Battalion, Abeokuta as Platoon Commander in 1963.
Incompetent Buhari passed Mechanical Transport Officers’ Course at the Army Mechanical Transport School in Borden, England in 1965. He went to the Defence Services’ Staff College, Wellington, India in 1973 and to the United States Army War College from June 1979 to June 1980.
When Murtala took power in 1975, he appointed Buhari as Governor of North-Eastern State, to oversee socio-economic improvements in the state. The history behind Buhari's popularity then is the reason for the occult-like followership he enjoys in places like Bauchi, today.
OBJ appointed Buhari Federal Commissioner (Minister) for Petroleum in 1976, the same year the contract for Kaduna refinery was awarded; same year NNPC was created and Buhari was also appointed as its Chairman. A position he held until Warri refinery commenced operation in 1978.
If it doesn't count that Buhari nearly lost his life commanding brigades right from the beginning of d civil war to it's end, I challenge anyone here to point us to a phase in our recent history, where side by side, quantum road construction happening in the S-East, happened.
After d Niger Delta, South East has d most difficult terrain for road construction. Last year, I saw with my korokoro eyes what it takes to blast fine-grained Diabase & Basalt at d ongoing Abakaliki-Mbok-Ogoja route 25/A34. The contractor OBJ paid N13Bn 4d job in 2009 absconded.
It's sardonic to tout business Sole Proprietorship as a credible yardstick for capability in Nigeria. Nigerians, all it'll take any idiot to set up whatever Atiku called business is access. Access to sit in a Federal Executive Council and award a University license to yourself.
Your Excellency, @atiku, you adjudge a business as successful by it's books. I challenge you to publish State of Affairs of AUN to show 2d public AUN's netbook value, capital recovery projections, gross revenue & profitability, to see if AUN is sustainable without Intel's money.
In the final analysis, more than 70% of Nigeria's voting population are peasants who are disconnected from social media tomfoolery. Poor inhabitants of Yobe desserts, up to Ekiti farm settlements still bare the scar of Obasanjo/Atiku's very recent tragedy of governance. We wait.
