I’m no ag expert, but I already knew that barley yields are ~50% bigger than they were when I was a child, frolicking ‘midst the barley fields of B.A.
You can’t even frolic ‘midst barley fields now, I’m told. The stuff’s so enormous and thickly planted that it will cut you to ribbons.
But also [serious face] a lot of that land has been switched to canola, which introduces the question of how ag inputs flow toward different relative product prices, & then where are your dumbfuck Peak Beer theories
