OK $TSLA $TSLAQ - It didn't register when I first saw this, but something doesn't add up with this Inventory chart that @Tesla included in their earnings release. 
They included cars in transit here - which as we know from the 8K on 10/2/2018 was 11,824 which is about 12 days sales at Q3's breakneck pace. Eye balling the chart it would appear that their total inventory (in the U.S.) is at about 16 days.
Since $TSLA measures it this way (including in transit) let's look at what the overall inventory picture (world wide) looks like, using Tesla's own inventory figures from their @SEC_Investor_Ed filings.
I encourage others to do this - if you go back through all of the 8Ks you can compare what $TSLA says it produces and delivers each quarter. As Tesla notes, the difference is split between "in-transit" and "other inventory".
Here is what it looks like. You'll notice something - according to $TSLA s own figures, they are carrying much more inventory than they let on. They've written off a decent amount of inventory over the years, but nowhere near enough to account for this buildup.
How does this data look in terms of Days Sales? Take a look - this is particularly remarkable given that $TSLA doesn't operate a dealership network. Where are all those cars???
The conference calls have turned into filibustered sessions and marketing fluff, the shareholder meetings are a joke in terms of questions, and since Tesla IR doesn't respond to any questions - how are we meant to get any answers to any of these questions? @SEC_Enforcement
I've said it before, if I were long this stock I would be extremely disturbed at the lack of transparency.
