EXCLUSIVE: CPS accused of failing to prosecute Far Right extremists who have used the same social media platform as Pittsburgh synagogue massacre suspect Robert Bowers.

Alison Saunders, who ends tenure as DPP today, has failed to tackle anti-Semitic hate crime, campaigners say.
Bowers - suspected of murdering 11 at the Tree of Life synagogue on Saturday - used a social media platform called Gab to post anti-Semitic hate.

He described Jews as "the children of Satan”.
Now LBC has been passed a file of British Far Right extremists, who have also posted anti-Semitic abuse on Gab.

The worst case is from this man:
Essex Police investigated and stated they were confident of bringing charges against the Neo Nazi.

This is the email they sent campaigners. The red arrow points to the name off the suspect behind the earlier posting.
But 18-months after the police passed the file to the CPS, charges still have not been brought.

In the meantime, the man has continued to post vile abuse on Gab, including these comments after the atrocity in Pittsburg.

See the comments, not the original post.
John Mann is chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on anti-Semitism. This is what he told LBC.
I should say at this point that the documents and postings contained within this thread are the result of two-years painstaking work by the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism.

It goes on.
There are other cases, including this individual, who tweeted about a prominent British businessman.
The police also wanted to bring charges (see the red arrow) against him.

But the CPS said no.
And so the anti-Semite took to Gab, where he posted this about the Prime Minister and Home Secretary.
Sussex Police also wanted to prosecute a man who tweeted this, amongst other abuse.
The case was reviewed by the legal team of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Alison Saunders.

But in their letter to the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, the CPS said such tweets were part of the "political discourse" and the “hallmark of a civilised society”.
Alison Saunders leaves her job as Britain's chief prosecutor today. There is already a view she should not become a dame after a number of innocent men who were wrongly accused of rape found themselves in court.

Jonathan Goldberg QC - a prominent criminal barrister - told LBC:
The CPS sent LBC a statement.

Part 1:

A spokesman said: “Anti-Semitic hate crime has a devastating impact on individuals and communities.

“The CPS works closely with the police to bring cases to court."
Part 2:

“We can only consider charging someone once a file of evidence has been referred to us by the police.

“We will always prosecute instances of anti-Semitic hate speech where there is enough evidence to secure a conviction and it is in the public interest.”
Final note: LBC has decided not to name or identify the individuals involved for legal and editorial reasons.
