Our goal is to establish a modern football club that the entire Abuja Metropolis can embrace. Our vision is for #AbujaMetroFC to become a model professional football club and grow to compete at the highest level of association football.
With the tested & trusted #CommunityOwnership model. Anyone can become a co-owner of #AbujaMetroFC. We will not need money bags to start & grow our own football club, just a group of people making token contributions, which gives them a % of the ownership of the club.
The 3-year start-up plan: 45 people contributing between N5k – N20k per month for 3 years (as their share capital) will be co-owners. The contributions will cover start-up & running costs for the initial 3-year period, after which the club is expected to become self-sustaining.
10 people x N20k = N720k; 15 people x N10k = N360k; 20 people x N5k = N180k. This translates to basic club revenue of N450 per month, N5.4m per year and N16.2m over the 3-year period. #AbujaMetroFC #CommunityOwnership
With guaranteed monthly revenue for the initial 3-year period only, the club will focus on building a brand to ensure subsequent survival &sustainable business growth. Focusing on viable income streams (e.g. merchandising, sponsorships) & business (e.g. retail) #AbujaMetroFC
The club will be registered ltd. company, with 45% shares taken up by the initial community owners. The governance structure will be a Board of Directors (appointed by the co-onwers) and Executive Management (CEO/President, Secretary, Financial Officer, etc.). #AbujaMetroFC
In addition to the regular statutory corporate meetings and reporting, each co-owner will be provided with monthly financial and operational reports. #AbujaMetroFC #CommunityOwnership
