Let's be clear about something: invading the personal space of other people to force your religious beliefs on them, particularly when they have clearly expressed they don't want you to do that, is not the basis for martyrdom. It is an indicator of an entitled asshole.
I am a Christian, and I have my personal religious beliefs. My beliefs are not entitled to the range of the public square. They do not belong in any space where it has been made clear an endorsement of religion is not welcome. I am not entitled to force my religion on others.
Traveling to another country to show people there all the supposed ways in which they are wrong or misguided for not accepting Christ as their savior is arrogant, insulting, irresponsible, and wildly counterproductive. It helps no one. And let's be honest about something...
When someone does travel halfway across the world to spread the Gospel where it is not wanted, that person is not doing it for the glory of God but for their own performative evangelical vanity. It is for bragging rights, not to bring Christ to those in need.
Show me a death bringing comfort to those in pain, food to those in hunger, shelter to those who are homeless, empowerment and allyship to the voiceless and oppressed--preaching the Gospel in these things without using words--and that I will agree is martyrdom. Traveling? No.
