DeVos's policy would have especially serious ramifications for community college students, many of whom do not live on campus or are enrolled part time. In fact, the college sexual assault crisis is particularly acute at commuter schools. huffingtonpost.com/entry/opinion-… via @HuffPost
Also, the new policy would only require schools to investigate the most extreme forms of harassment and assault. It’s possible that a student who is fearful of attending a class as their stalker waited for them outside wouldn’t have rights under the changes proposed to Title IX.
.@BetsyDeVosED Your Title IX rules change is personal for me. I was a FT employee and PT student for nine years before getting a BS. Luckily I wasn't harassed or assaulted but knew other older students like me who were. You don't have to be 20 to be attacked as a student.
