We had so much fun on 24th November 2018, the day we set out to go give some #ChristmasLove to our kids in Lwengo District. The day began with entertainment as the beauties welcomed us to their school. #LoveFest2018
Meet Madam Teddy Nansinkombi the Head Teacher of Kyassonko Primary school. "We are proud of the work that @humanity4g has done in our school and we appreciate the support they give to our children without active guardians," she said in her speech for the day! #LoveFest2018
We were lucky to have some @BldgTomorrow fellows who came to support the event along with other representatives from Bukedde TV and CBS FM two of the leading media stations in the country. They thanked us for the great work & promised to participate in other future events.
The Guest of Honour was Eng. Ivan Masuba representing our Board of Directors & motivated the children to never give up on their dreams. "Do not listen to anyone who tells u you can't reach your goals," he told them. "I moved 9km to reach school everyday as a child and here I am."
Our emcee for the day was the beautiful @Celia13N who is also our Programs Director. #LoveFest2018
We also heard from the area local leaders who recognised @humanity4g for changing their community's efforts towards education. They gave credit to us for giving education a beautiful face that their community had never imagined. #LoveFest2018
The two head teachers of the beneficiary schools gave a moving speech about how our programs have brought high enrollment in their schools and have reduced absenteeism. They, in particular, singled out our Menstrual Hygiene Management Trainings for reducing girls' absenteeism.
Our community volunteers were thankful for having been given an opportunity to serve their community. Community Volunteers help us in mobilising communities for our programs. #LoveFest2018
Our ED explained the work being done and thanked their partners especially @BldgTomorrow for facilitating them with resources they use to reach the communities. He, in a special way, thanked the BOD who believed in the dream to have all children in school and supported them.
We gave out clothes we have been collecting for months to the children and they are so excited for Christmas now that they have new clothes to wear. #LoveFest2018
The schools and the children also had gifts for the guests and this was their time to give their gifts. #LoveFest2018
#LoveFest2018 was most fun when food time arrived. It was so fulfilling seeing happy smiles from the children who rarely have this kind of celebration. Love Fest is an annual party we organize for our children in rural Uganda to let them know they are loved. #LoveForEveryChild
