In all the msm punditry about the abnormality of the past 2 years, no one has acknowledged the most basic perversity of it: that Trump was able to con his way into the WH only by dint of a hideous, pervasive mass brainwashing—not about him but about his opponent. (1)
Fed by sources that were both domestic & foreign, malicious & clueless, the real Hillary Clifton was turned into a fiction that too many voters were taught to mistrust and dislike. This was the REAL “witch hunt,” the REAL “fake news.” And shamefully, it persists even now. (2)
I have to believe that history will ultimately expose this disgusting yet still suppressed truth: we not only elected a lying, infantile, corrupt, inept madman but told a brilliant, highly skilled, eminently sane and truly exceptional human being to “go on home now.” (3)
Amazing, isn’t it? Time we acknowledged it, isn’t it? Can we possibly heal ourselves, redeem ourselves, revive the authority of truth over the “normalcy” of the swindle, the fog of perpetual lies, the constant corruption, until we do? (4)
I call on the mainstream media to take the lead here and start acknowledging how much Hillary got right about Trump, the Russians, and the rise of the “alt-right,” how irresponsible you were about her emails, how recklessly you picked up on right-wing scandalizing about her. (5)
It’s crucial but not sufficient that the press only be “free.” We also count on you to resist rumor and myth. I value your good work enormously. I’m delighted to see a renewed commitment to the exposure of lies. But face it, you screwed up with Hillary. Please own up.
