daniel borden will be sentenced tomorrow after pleading guilty in may 2018 for his role in the brutal beating of deandre harris on august 12, 2017.
he entered an alford plea for felony malicious wounding - briefly, this means he maintains innocence while admitting he knows the state has sufficient evidence to convict him (because he's, you know, on video committing the crime)

two other men have already been tried, convicted, and sentenced for their participation in this beating. alex ramos & jacob goodwin were convicted in 2018 and will serve 6 & 10 years, respectively.

Today, James Alex Fields was sentenced to 419 years in prison.

I'll leave the precise details of what happened that day to good folks like @AltRightTruth .

This is a thread on why his tragic show trial and conviction are so important and how we can work to save him.
As many of us already know, Fields is completely innocent. He had no intent to harm anyone that day and expressed immediate and deep empathy for those injured. He had a very challenging home life/upbringing and by all accounts is a sympathetic character. A young white man.
He was one of many young men who took a big risk that day. A risk to come out in support of his people and his heritage. He heard the words of so many of us and took the opportunity to stand for his people. We don't need to rehash the debate around that day to recognize this.

Charlottesville just released a series of grim evidence photos from the trial of James Alex Fields, including these of two victims being treated in the hospital. They testified about their extensive injuries—the man below had only a five-minute memory for eight hours after.
I hadn't seen this aerial photo of Fields' car attack before. You can see people being thrown onto the hoods of cars by the force of the crash.
Fields' Challenger smashed the back of Tadrint Washington's car that day, which likely means the death toll was much lower than it would have been had he plowed straight through a crowd. She survived to testify. Her license plate is an abbreviation of "God Keep Me."

The trial for James Fields, the Charlottesville attacker, starts on Monday, so here are some things you should know.
Fields is facing 10 state counts:

- first degree murder
- 3x aggravated malicious wounding
- 5x malicious wounding
- leaving the scene of a fatal crash
None of these counts are hate crimes, and the maximum penalty is Life. Virginia has a separate Capital Murder statute.

This trial is separate from his federal indictment, where he faces 30 counts, including 29 hate crime charges.
