Just read @DaveBrady72 's paper abt theories of the causes of poverty (shout out to my kids for happily self-entertaining & letting me read this afternoon). Lots of head nodding & agreement while I read. I also found myself challenged in some ways (which is a good thing) 1/2
There's way too much for me to summarize so I'll say 2 things. First, scholars of poverty across disciplines should read this. Second, political scientists will find themselves largely (& rightly) absent w/ the exception of the exceptions like @jbsoss @sanfordschram @rfording 2/2
I said that was the last tweet but I lied. My point: there are important debates abt the causes of poverty that political scientists have had too little part in shaping. Few of us have engaged. Some young scholars changing this include @sopolicyscholar @cmslaughter_ & Chris Ojeda
