We’ve lost our theological minds to think it’s enough for people of light to sit in the light, carry the light, show the light, preach the light, podcast the light but not fight the darkness. It’s like showing up in the ring decked out, belted & gloved, & never throwing a punch.
We do battle against this present darkness and these cosmic forces in this evil age. We wrestle with the world systems they possess that are crushing people. We don’t just sit here being holy. Holiness is love lit with fire from heaven carried like torches into the darkest abyss.
We are Jesus-followers, meaning we follow Jesus and do the works He did with the heart for people He had. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit & with power. HE WENT ABOUT DOING GOOD & healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38

Shunning prejudice if we possess faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Not daring to dishonor the poor.
Showing our faith with our deeds.

I’ve pled for some things from God for many years He hasn’t yet granted. Things I’ve seen Him do for others. He’s faithfully sustained me through these hopes deferred & poured out 1000 blessings in ways I’d never even requested. I just want you to know: me, too. Let’s trust Him.
It’s easy to think there are people out there who are God’s favorites & they get everything they ask. It simply is not true. That our pain & longings are being overlooked is a lie Satan uses to torment us. No one’s more loved than you. You’re seen & heard by God. Don’t lose hope.
This verse means a lot to me and sits propped in my kitchen by my coffee maker where I can take heart in it often. He knows what you long for. He hears your every sigh. Where He does not grant our request, He will grant us His comfort. No small trade indeed. He is everything.

Spending time with God and spending time with the Bible are not the same thing. The Bible is the Word of God, crucial to knowing Him, but it’s not God. We can study our Bibles till the 2nd coming & leave God completely out of it. We can grow in facts & never grow a whit in faith.
Do not be deceived. People who study the Scriptures constantly and are continually mean-spirited, rude, slanderous and, aside their religious rhetoric, bereft of outward evidences of the Holy Spirit are having Bible study without God. He affects us. You can take that to the bank.
I will emphasize once more that my point is NOT studying Scripture less. I am a proponent of daily Bible study. It’s my practice. My life work and my delight. My point is that we need to God in our study of His Word. I’m just saying don’t leave Jesus out of Bible study.

Do you #podcast? If so, please compress your audio. That means you're reducing the difference in volume of your peaks and valleys in your waveform. You can do that by applying a "Hard Limiter" to the track. 1/
It raises valleys and the overall volume of your track while preventing your audio from clipping.
Appropriate settings for a hard limiter in #podcast world are:
Hard limit -6dB
Add "gain" by +6 until the average volume of your track is at -12dB

You can repeat applying these Hard Limiter settings until your vocal audio averages from -16dB to -12dB. When there's something loud like laughing, it should peak at -6dB.
A properly compressed track means your audience gets a nice even #podcast.

This year’s Day Of Patriotic Fervor is weirder than usual. All these people who we know for a fact are happily undermining what little stability we have left posting near-religious screeds and eulogies is weird to see.
Completely expected of course; nobody with political ambition in America can fail to participate in this ritual creation of another foundational myth, by which I mean “9/11 changed everything” or “they hate us for our freedom” even if they see through it
But even on the most shameless day of the year in a particularly brazen era, it’s just...weird. Like you still expect that every human has some shred of dignity and they just *don’t* somehow

Right. No-one asked for it, but several of you fuckers need it, so here's my tips for creating a good #podcast:
1. Edit your work. Listen to what you've recorded and take the time to cut out the erms, the ums, the slurpy mouth noises, coughs, farts, etc.
And for the love of fuck, don't eat or drink into the microphone.
2. Edit your work. If your episodes are consistently more than an hour long, I will move on without listening. There is no subject I want to hear about for that long that can't be either restructured into smaller episodes, or more strongly edited.
