Steel slats need paint every few months, because rust.
It costs at minimum $7 to paint steel per lineal foot including labor.
Each 20’ slat $70 ( forget the Mexican side)

$730 million to keep border baby from rusting and falling apart twice a year.

The Govt want to make amendments to the Census by adding in questions on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation. This means a change in legislation is needed. Some questions are voluntary and some required with threat of penalty if unanswered. The Sexual Orientation question ..
.. will be voluntary, just like the question on religion is. However, it's a different matter regarding Gender Identity. For starters, it hasn't even been agreed what the questions will be and also what the definitions are of terms like 'Sex' and 'Gender Identity'.
Now if you're thinking that the definition of 'Sex' should be straightforward and reflect its meaning as stated in the Equality Act 2010 , then you'd mistaken. No, no it's much more inclusive now & doesn't mean biological sex or 'legal' sex anymore.

My next twitter megathread is gonna be to watch every Mickey Mouse cartoon, starting on his 90th birthday on November 18th.

Last night ABC showed this birthday celebration special and so far I am finding it hard to connect with. This is clearly not targeted at me.
Even when I was a kid and full of imagination, I was never on board for celebrities talking about cartoon characters like this. I just couldn't get on board.
When I was a kid I brought an autograph book to Disney World and had the people in costumes sign it as their characters but even then I felt weird about it and what I really wanted was to meet Carl Barks and Clarence "Ducky" Nash.

1/ This was a terrible idea and seemingly every academic and practitioner in probation thought so. The marketisation was meant to use a "Payment by Results" system similar to another of Grayling's Greatest Hits, The Work Programme...
2/ CRC owners would be paid under on the basis of reductions in reconviction (which ≠ reoffending, but anyway...). They started 2 pilots for this 'payment by results' approach (notably at Doncaster prison) but they had poor results and weren't really finished before TR began

When men work on a task together, there is a whole territorial thing. One cannot join in without an invitation.

Women do not work together this way. A good citizen just steps in and shares the work.

I know you think you are being polite, but this is the opposite. Gendered meta-communication among women* reads this as asking to be explicitly excused.
