A message to our GDI Colorado community in response to recent events at GDI:

We want to let you, our community, know we are putting the Colorado chapter of Girl Develop It on hiatus. This means that no new events or classes will be organized for the foreseeable future.
Our trust in @girldevelopit Headquarters(HQ) and the Board of Directors has been broken due to recent events that have us questioning their commitment to the values of this organization.
The lack of action and transparency from HQ has caused harm within our community and we want to apologize at a local level to our members, our teachers/TAs and our leadership team. Local chapters, including Colorado, are calling upon GDIHQ to take action to address these issues.

In order for us to resume operations of the Colorado chapter, we must see specific, top-level changes within Girl Develop It - including the replacement of problematic leaders, public apologies to the community, and sustainable policies and efforts towards DEI.
It breaks our hearts to share this news. We both still firmly believe in the mission of inclusion, and we are so grateful to you, our community, for supporting us.
