3 years ago, at roughly this time at night, The Guardian revealed that Ted Cruz was using Cambridge Analytica to target 40+ million Facebook users.

3 years later, little has really been done about it.

Journalists seem to care about it more than the US or UK authorities. @carolecadwalla has pursued it relentlessly and deservedly won numerous awards.

In the USA this year, Ted Cruz literally interrogated Mark Zuckerberg in front of congress without ever mentioning it.
In the UK this year, a liberal democrat peer literally stood in for Mark Zuckerberg to represent Facebook to talk about what they're doing around data privacy.
It's a shame our MPs seem to know or care so little about data & digital marketing. They seem to see the basics of campaigning (eg. The govt literally handed facebook £100k last week to promote the withdrawal agreement), yet do virtually nothing to prevent or punish huge misuse.
