Well, here is some made-up stuff... Let's look at these numbers, shall we? #Loopyhype
4000 vehicles/hour means 0.9s separation between them. It takes 15s to brake to a stop from 155mph, assuming the system can decelerate at 0.5g (you'll get whiplash much faster than that).
Assuming the same acceleration, it will take vehicles 500m to get up to speed and 500m to slow down again.

So for each access shaft, you'll need 1000m of parallel tunnel to get vehicles on and off the primary tunnel. And 0.9s separation doesn't leave much space for error.
In case you hadn't realised, this is completely unfeasible. But let's give him the benefit of the doubt.
However, his final capacity claim is no less than insane.

If you were to run buses full of people in this thing, it becomes a railway, and you'd need a full signalling system and safe separation between "trolleys".
For safe separation, and even permitting the discomfort to passengers of accelerating/braking at 0.5g, the 15s headway from above would limit you to 240 departures/hour. That's also assuming a perfect control system.
Musk hints above at buses (?) carrying 25 people...

240 departures/hour, besides being plainly impossible for the system the @boringcompany is proposing, would only give 6000pax/hr/dir, which is better than a bus or tram but still a sixth of the capacity of a metro rail system.
But as I've just explained, the cost of all of these tunnels (plus the safety access tunnels paralleling all of them) burrowing everywhere would be enormous, ignoring the fact that the ground isn't just a homogenous entity you can drill through without let or hindrance.
Anyway, there's so much wrong with this idea it's hard to form a coherent thread on the matter.

Suffice to say I'm struggling to see why people aren't loudly and vigourously ridiculing Musk for inventing **checks notes** a way to bury a lane of traffic underground 💩
This is only the "Loop" - for a sequence of equally irreverent demolitions of Hyperloop (also crackers for many of the same reasons), see this thread-of-threads stretching back over the last year:
I pick on the main "positive" thing people have been citing here:
