A giant amongst action filmmaking RINGO LAM has died.
This sucks , if you have not seen City on Fire or Full Contact , the latter being an easy top Chow Yun Fat flick for me.
Do yourself a favor and honor this underrated man on fire.
John Woo, long touted as the Godfather of Hongkong hardboiled cinema, but its RINGO LAM (RIP) ( &to some extent Tsui Hark) who delivers the Full tilt boogie bravado & sleaze all delivered with gusto in Full Contact.
Also In Full Contact : Simon Yam delivers, Imho one of the most memorable villain in the history of action flick; complex, charismatic, flamboyant, bisexual & dangerous.

This movie fuckin rules is what I’m saying, RIP Ringo Lam.
Just found out Ringo Lam was only 64 , this truly is sad. But its also amazing that the legacy he left behind at a young age thru the 80s & 90s .
Lastly, Ringo Lam... thats a bad ass name, Ringo Lam...he made Chow Yun Fat swam butterfly stroke, literally.

John Woo's new movie MANHUNT is now on Netflix and on import blu-ray. It has his great action, themes of brotherhood, and a scene where doves save the lives of the two leads.
