Thread: It was May 2017. All official and pvt estimates were showing poor job creation under the NDA govt. So, PM @narendramodi decided to set up a task force under @APanagariya, then Niti Aayog Vice Chairman, to suggest the govt improvement in employment data.
The task force's mandate? To submit a comprehensive report by June 2017. The Panagariya panel made public a draft report on July 13, 2017 for seeking comments. Meanwhile, on August 1, news came Mr. Panagariya has resigned to go back to teaching.
The task force was not dissolved. It submitted its final report to the Prime Minister's Office on August 30, 2017 - a day before Mr. Panagariya resigned. But where is the final report?

Mystery remains. Why was the report never made public? We reached out to Mr. Panagariya and his successor @RajivKumar1 for comments. None had the answers to it - despite repeated e-mails.
