Reject corporate funding? Run small-dollar campaign? Make life better for ordinary Americans? Liz has everything that attracted the initial wave of support to Bernie - except the penis. Too bad - “unlikable.”
It is so effing weird to see the Berner machine mobilizing against Liz. I don’t want to be that right. I don’t want it to be about misogyny, deep down. But what I’m seeing tells its own story.
(And I say that as one who backed Bernie strongly in the primary. For same issues that lead me now to back Liz. But also voted and campaigned for Hillary when she won the primary. And was creeped by the ugly trolling I now know was Russian in origin.)
We need to face that misogyny, racism, other forms of bigotry in America are no longer an ugly luxury the privileged can afford. They are a national security issue. They are being systematically used to turn us away from our best candidates.
